Sensor, Brake Pad Wear, Rear: Operation
When the brake pads are worn, the brake pad wear sensor circuit becomes shorted to ground, a warning will appear in the Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC) and diagnostic scan tool data for the Body Control Module (BCM) will show "Consumed". Inspection of both front and rear brake pads is required to determine which pads need replacement. To replace the brake pad wear sensor, the appropriate worn brake pads must be serviced or replaced.
