Diagnostic Test

  1. CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC 
    1. With the scan tool, read LBSS DTCs and record on the repair order.
    2. With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
    3. Cycle the ignition from on to off, wait five seconds and then back to on.
    4. With the scan tool, read LBSS DTCs.

      Did the DTC return?

      Yes 

      • Go To  2

      No 

  2. CHECK THE CAN CIRCUITS FROM THE LBSS TO THE BCM 
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the LBSS Module harness connector and the BCM harness connector.
    3. Check the CAN circuits for opens or shorts.

      Are there any CAN circuits shorted or open?

      Yes 

      • Repair the CAN circuits that are open or shorted.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST.

      No 

      • Go To  3
  3. CHECK BCM AND LBSS HARNESS CONNECTORS 
    1. Check the LBSS and BCM harness connectors.

      Are there any problems with the harness connectors?

      Yes 

      • Restore the correct function of the connector.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST.

      No 

      • Go To  4
  4. CHECK THE BCM POWER SUPPLY CIRCUITS 
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the BCM harness connector.
    3. Check the BCM power supply circuits with a test light.

      Does the test light illuminate brightly?

      Yes 

      • Go To  5

      No 

  5. CHECK THE LBSS POWER SUPPLY CIRCUITS 
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the LBSS harness connector.
    3. Check the LBSS power supply circuits with a test light.

      Does the test light illuminate brightly?

      Yes 

      • Go To  6

      No 

  6. CHECK THE BCM FUNCTIONALITY 
    1. Check for proper operation of the BCM.

      Does the BCM operate correctly?

      Yes 

      • Go To  7

      No 

  7. CHECK THE LBSS FUNCTIONALITY 
    1. Check for proper operation of the LBSS.

      Does the LBSS operate correctly?

      Yes 

      • Test complete.

      No
