Diagnostic Test

- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
- Turn the ignition on, engine not running.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Is the DTC active?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic Procedure. Refer to INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
- CHECK FOR OTHER DTCS
- Refer to the recorded DTCs.
Are there any Fuel Delivery DTCs present?
Yes
- Perform the applicable diagnostic procedure(s). Refer to DIAGNOSTIC CODE INDEX (6.2L) .
No
- Go To 3
- Refer to the recorded DTCs.
- CHECK THE (N213) FUEL PUMP PWM CONTROL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO ANOTHER VOLTAGE SUPPLY
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the FPCM 2 harness connector.
- Disconnect the Fuel Pump Module harness connector.
- Check for continuity between the (N213) Fuel Pump PWM Control circuit and all other circuits at the FPCM 2 harness connector.
Is there continuity between the (N213) Fuel Pump PWM Control circuit and any other circuit?
Yes
- Repair the (N213) Fuel Pump PWM Control circuit for a short to the circuit that showed continuity.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 4
- CHECK THE (N214) FUEL PUMP PWM RETURN CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO ANOTHER VOLTAGE SUPPLY
- Check for continuity between the (N214) Fuel Pump PWM Return circuit and all other circuits at the FPCM 2 harness connector.
Is there continuity between the (N214) Fuel Pump PWM Return circuit and any other circuit?
Yes
- Repair the (N214) Fuel Pump PWM Return circuit for a short to the circuit that showed continuity.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Replace the Fuel Pump Control Module 2 according to the Service Information.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .
- Check for continuity between the (N214) Fuel Pump PWM Return circuit and all other circuits at the FPCM 2 harness connector.
