TENSIONER, Belt: Installation: 3.6L
WARNING:
Because of high spring tension, do not attempt to disassemble automatic tensioner. Unit is serviced as an assembly.
NOTE:
The 3.6L belt tensioner has a low output spring by design and is identified by the front gold plate. This tensioner may feel weak compared to other front end accessory drive tensioners.
- An indexing slot is located on the back of the tensioner. Align this slot to the head of the bolt on the front cover. Install the belt tensioner and tighten the bolt (1) to the proper specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS GAS
- Install the serpentine belt. Refer to 3.6L
- Install the air cleaner body. Refer to INSTALLATION
- Connect the negative battery cable.
