Cable, Hood Release: Removal

NOTE:

Take note of the cable routing for correct installation.

  1. Remove the front fascia. Refer to FASCIA, FRONT, REMOVAL .
  2. Using a grease pencil or equivalent, mark the position of the hood latch to aid in installation.
  3. Disconnect the wire harness connector (1), unclip the wire harness (4) and remove the hood latch bolts (3).
  4. Remove the hood latch release cable (2) from the hood latch.
  5. Loosen the cowl top panel as needed to unclip the hood latch release cable. Refer to COVER, COWL PANEL, REMOVAL .
  6. Unclip the hood latch release cable from the body.

  7. Remove the driver side instrument panel closeout. Refer to PANEL, SILENCER, REMOVAL .
  8. Remove the hood release handle (4) from the steering column opening cover by lifting the retaining tab (2) and slide the hood release handle forward.
  9. Press the tabs (3) and remove the hood latch release cable from the handle, then remove the cable end (1).
  10. Remove the hood latch release cable grommet from the dash panel and remove the hood latch release cable.
