Plate, Carrier: Removal
- Raise the window to it's fully up position.
- Remove the exterior handle. Refer to HANDLE, EXTERIOR, REMOVAL .
- Remove the screw (1) from under the exterior handle.
- Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
- Remove the rear door trim. Refer to PANEL, REAR DOOR TRIM, REMOVAL .
- Carefully remove the closeout plug (1) covering the front window regulator access hole.
- Temporarily install the window switch pod, reconnect the negative battery cable and lower the window until the white regulator tab is visible in the access hole (1).NOTE:
Typical glass shown in illustration, 300 is similar.
- Using a small round bladed tool (2) or equivalent, release the door glass (1) from the window regulator glass sliders (3).
- Secure the window glass into place with a wedge or tape.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable and remove the window switch pod.
- Disconnect the door harness from the vehicle body harness.
- Open the latch access panel (3).
- Remove the screws (2) from the harness grommet/bracket (1).
- Remove the harness grommet/bracket (1) from the door.
- Remove the exterior door handle. Refer to HANDLE, EXTERIOR, REMOVAL .
- Remove the rear door latch screws (1).
- Disconnect the rear door wiring harness (1) from all door carrier motors, sensors and the latch.
- Remove the seven carrier plate bolts (2).
- Disengage the three carrier plate torx head retainers (3).
- Remove the carrier plate (3) from the rear door.
