Plate, Carrier: Removal
- Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
- Remove the exterior handle. Refer to HANDLE, EXTERIOR, REMOVAL .
- Remove the screw (1) from under the exterior handle.
- Remove the front door trim, Refer to PANEL, DOOR TRIM, REMOVAL .
- Open the latch access panel (1) located on the carrier plate near the lock rod assembly.
- Carefully remove the closeout plug (1) covering the front window regulator access hole located just behind the electronic mirror module.
- Temporarily install the window switch pod, reconnect the negative battery cable and lower the window until the white regulator tabs are visible in both access holes (1).NOTE:

- Using a small round bladed tool (2) or equivalent, release the door glass (1) from the window regulator glass sliders (3).
- Secure the window glass into place with a wedge or tape.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable and remove the window switch pod.
- Remove the front door latch mounting screws (1).
- Remove the front door harness wiring (1) bracket from the front of the door.
- Disconnect the front door wiring harness (2) from all door carrier motors, modules, sensors and the latch.
- Remove the front door wiring harness (2) from the front door carrier plate.
- If necessary, disconnect the link rods from the rear of the exterior handle assembly.
- Remove the six carrier plate bolts (1).
- Disengage the four carrier plate torx head retainers (3).
- Remove the carrier plate (3) from the front door.
- If servicing the latch, separate the presenter and the latch from the carrier plate.
