Removal & Installation (4-door Model)

  1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Move appropriate front seat to forward position. Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM .
  2. Lift lower seat belt anchor cover and remove anchor bolt. Remove seat belt shoulder anchor cover and bolt. See Fig 1. Remove upper and lower B-pillar trim panels. Remove seat belt web guide retaining screws and web guide. Disconnect seat belt pretensioner/retractor electrical connectors. Remove seat belt retractor mounting bolt and pretensioner/retractor assembly.
  3. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten fasteners to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . DO NOT connect negative battery cable at this time. Perform air bag system check to ensure air bag system is functioning properly. See AIR BAG SYSTEM CHECK  under SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK.
