Test 27A: Not Configured For Passenger-Side Air Bag On-Off Switch

NOTE:
Prior to performing any air bag system test, go to PRETEST INSPECTION & DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE under DIAGNOSTICS. Perform TEST VER-1: AIR BAG VERIFICATION TEST after all repairs unless otherwise directed.
- Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using DRBIII, determine if NOT CONFIGURED FOR PASSENGER-SIDE AIR BAG ON-OFF SWITCH is an active or stored Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC). If NOT CONFIGURED FOR PASSENGER-SIDE AIR BAG ON-OFF SWITCH is an active DTC, go to next step. If NOT CONFIGURED FOR PASSENGER-SIDE AIR BAG ON-OFF SWITCH is a stored DTC, perform air bag verification test. See TEST VER-1: AIR BAG VERIFICATION TEST .
- Check instrument panel to ensure vehicle is equipped with passenger-side air bag on-off switch. If vehicle is equipped with passenger-side air bag on-off switch, go to next step. If vehicle is not equipped with passenger-side air bag on-off switch, replace Air Bag Control Module (ACM). See AIR BAG CONTROL MODULE (ACM) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
- Select RESTRAINTS, AIR BAG, and MISCELLANEOUS on DRBIII menu. Follow instructions on DRBIII to verify passenger-side air bag on-off switch configuration. If DRBIII shows ACM is configured for passenger-side air bag on-off switch, replace ACM. If DRBIII shows ACM is not configured for passenger-side air bag on-off switch, follow instructions on DRBIII to configure ACM to support passenger-side air bag on-off switch.
