Installation (Rear)

NOTE:
When servicing the rear brake pads, replace the anti-rattle slips on the brake adapter. Anti-rattle clips are provided with the shoe lining kit.
- Bottom the piston in the caliper bore with C-clamp. Place an old brake shoe between the C-clamp and caliper piston.
- Clean the caliper mounting surface.
- Install the anti-rattle clips.
- Install the inboard brake pad in adapter. See Figure.
- Install the outboard brake pad adapter. See Figure.
- Install the caliper. See CALIPER .
- Install the wheel and tire assemblies and lower vehicle. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Apply brakes several times to seat caliper pistons and brake shoes and obtain firm pedal.
- Top off master cylinder fluid level. See CHECKING & FILLING under BRAKE FLUID in SERVICE.
CAUTION:
Anti-rattle springs are NOT interchangeable.
