The Intake Manifold Air Temperature (IAT) sensor is installed into the intake manifold plenum near the left side of the throttle body. See Figure. For the Threaded Type sensor, disconnect electrical connector from sensor and remove sensor from intake manifold. See Fig 1. For the Snap-in Type sensor perform the following procedure:
- Disconnect electrical connector from IAT sensor. Clean dirt from intake manifold at sensor base.
- Gently lift on small plastic release tab and rotate sensor about 1/4 turn counterclockwise for removal. See Fig 2 and Fig 3 .
- Check condition of sensor "O" ring.
For installation of the Threaded Type sensor, install sensor into intake manifold and tighten sensor to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Connect electrical connector to sensor. For the Snap-in Type sensor installation, perform the following procedure:
- Clean sensor mounting hole in intake manifold.
- Position sensor into intake manifold and rotate clockwise until past release tab. See Fig 2.
- Install electrical connector.
