Installation (4.7L)

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Dodge Dakota. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Ensure sensor mounting hole is clean and free of debris. Apply a small amount of fresh engine oil to CKP sensor "O" ring. Using a slight rocking action, lightly push CKP sensor into block. DO NOT twist CKP sensor during installation or "O" may be damaged.

CAUTION: Before tightening sensor mounting bolt, be sure sensor is completely flush to cylinder block. If sensor is not flush, damage to sensor mounting tang may result.

Tighten CKP sensor retaining bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Connect electrical connector to sensor.
