Installation (4.7L)

  1. Clean out machined hole in cylinder head. Apply light coat of engine oil on CMP sensor "O" ring. Using a slight rocking action, lightly push CMP sensor into cylinder head. DO NOT twist CMP sensor during installation or "O" may be damaged.
    CAUTION: Before tightening sensor mounting bolt, be sure sensor is completely flush to cylinder head. If sensor is not flush, damage to sensor mounting tang may result.
  2. Install and tighten CMP sensor retaining bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Reinstall electrical connector on CMP. Lower vehicle.
