Installation (4.7L)

- Clean out machined hole in cylinder head. Apply light coat of engine oil on CMP sensor "O" ring. Using a slight rocking action, lightly push CMP sensor into cylinder head. DO NOT twist CMP sensor during installation or "O" may be damaged.CAUTION: Before tightening sensor mounting bolt, be sure sensor is completely flush to cylinder head. If sensor is not flush, damage to sensor mounting tang may result.
- Install and tighten CMP sensor retaining bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Reinstall electrical connector on CMP. Lower vehicle.
