Diagnostic Procedure

DOOR LOCK INHIBIT INOPERATIVE - DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

TEST ACTION
1 Open the Driver's front door.
With the DRBIII, enter "Body Computer" then "Input/Output" and observe the Driver Door Ajar status.
Does the DRBIII display DRDOOR AJAR: CLOSED?
  1. Yes --> Go To 2
  2. No --> Refer to DRIVER DOOR AJAR OPEN CIRCUIT in the DOOR AJAR category.

    Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1  .

NOTE: Ensure that the Key is still in the Ignition Switch.
With the DRBIII, enter "Body Computer" then "Input/Output" and read the Key-In Ignition Switch status.Does the DRB display: KEY-IN IGN: CLOSED ?
  1. Yes --> Replace the Central Timer Module.

    Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1  .

  2. No --> Go To 3
3 Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Ignition Switch harness connector.
Connect a jumper between the Key-In Ignition Switch Sense circuit and Ground circuit.
With the DRBIII, enter "Body Computer" then "Input/Output" and observe the Key-In Ignition Switch status.
Does the DRBIII display KEY-IN IGN: CLOSED?
  1. Yes --> Replace the Ignition Switch.

    Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1  .

  2. No --> Go To 4
4 Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Ignition Switch harness connector.
Turn all lights off.
Measure the resistance between ground and the ground circuit in the ignition switch connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
  1. Yes --> Go To 5
  2. No --> Repair the ground circuit for an open.

    Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1  .

5 Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Ignition Switch harness connector.
Disconnect the Central Timer Module C1 harness connector.
Measure the resistance of the Key-In Ignition Switch Sense circuit between the ignition switch connector and the CTM C1 connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
  1. Yes --> Go To 6
  2. No --> Repair the Key-In Ignition Switch Sense circuit for an open.

    Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1  .

6 If there are no possible causes remaining, view repair.
  1. Repair
    1. Replace the Central Timer Module.
    2. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1  .
