Diagnostic Procedure

ALL DOORS FAIL TO LOCK & UNLOCK FROM ONE SWITCH - DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

TEST ACTION
1 Select the switch which is inoperative.
  1. Driver Door Lock Switch
    1. Go To 2
  2. Passenger Door Lock Switch
    1. Go To 7
  3. Cylinder Lock Switch
    1. Go To 12
2 Turn the ignition on.
Disconnect the Driver Door Lock Switch (Door Module) connector.
Measure the voltage of the Driver Door Switch Mux circuit.
Is the voltage above 10.0 volts?
  1. Yes --> Go To 3
  2. No --> Go To 6
3 Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Driver Door Lock Switch (Door Module) connector.
Measure the resistance of the Ground circuit in the Switch connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
  1. Yes --> Go To 4
  2. No --> Repair the Ground circuit for an open.

    Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1  .

4 Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Driver Door Lock Switch (Door Module) connector.
Disconnect the CTM C2 connector.
Measure the voltage of the Driver Door Switch Mux circuit between the CTM C2 connector and the Switch connector.
Is there any voltage present?
  1. Yes --> Repair the Driver Door Switch Mux circuit for a short to voltage.

    Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1  .

  2. No --> Go To 5
5 If there are no possible causes remaining, view repair.
  1. Repair
    1. Replace the Driver Door Lock Switch.
    2. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1  .
6 Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Driver Door Lock Switch (Door Module) connector.
Disconnect the CTM C2 connector.
Measure the resistance of the Driver Door Switch Mux circuit between the CTM C2 connector and the Switch connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
  1. Yes --> Replace the Central Timer Module.

    Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1  .

  2. No --> Repair the Driver Door Switch Mux circuit for an open.

    Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1  .

7 Turn the ignition on.
Disconnect the Passenger Door Lock Switch connector.
Measure the voltage of the Passenger Door Switch Mux circuit.
Is the voltage above 10.0 volts?
  1. Yes --> Go To 8
  2. No --> Go To 11
8 Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Passenger Door Lock Switch connector.
Measure the resistance of the Ground circuit in the Switch connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
  1. Yes --> Go To 9
  2. No --> Repair the Ground circuit for an open.

    Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1  .

9 Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Passenger Door Lock Switch connector.
Disconnect the CTM C2 connector.
Measure the voltage of the Passenger Door Switch Mux circuit between the CTM C2 connector and the Switch connector.
Is there any voltage present?
  1. Yes --> Repair the Passenger Door Switch Mux circuit for a short to voltage.

    Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1  .

  2. No --> Go To 10
10 If there are no possible causes remaining, view repair.
  1. Repair
    1. Replace the Passenger Door Lock Switch.
    2. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1  .
11 Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Passenger Door Lock Switch connector.
Disconnect the CTM C2 connector.
Measure the resistance of the passenger Door Switch Mux circuit between the CTM C2 connector and the Switch connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
  1. Yes --> Replace the Central Timer Module.

    Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1  .

  2. No --> Repair the Passenger Door Switch Mux circuit for an open.

    Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1  .

12 Disconnect the Cylinder Lock Switch connector.
Turn the ignition off.
Measure the resistance of the Ground circuit.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
  1. Yes --> Go To 13
  2. No --> Repair the Ground circuit for an open.

    Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1  .

13 Disconnect the Cylinder Lock Switch connector.
Turn the ignition on.
Measure the voltage of the Cylinder Lock Switch Mux circuit.
Is the voltage above 3.0 volts?
  1. Yes --> Go To 14
  2. No --> Repair the Cylinder Lock Switch Mux circuit for an open from the splice to the switch connection.

    Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1  .

14 If there are no possible causes remaining, view repair.
  1. Repair
    1. Replace the Cylinder Lock Switch.
    2. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1  .
