Diagnostic Procedure

INTERIOR LAMPS INOPERATIVE - ALL LAMPS - DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

TEST ACTION
1 Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Headlamp Switch harness connector.
Connect a jumper wire between ground and the Courtesy Lamp Switch Sense Circuit of the Headlamp Switch harness connector.
Did any of the Interior Lamps illuminate?
  1. Yes --> Go To 2
  2. No --> Repair the Courtesy Lamp Switch Sense Circuit for a short to ground.

    Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1  .

2 Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Headlamp Switch harness connector.
Disconnect the Central Timer Module harness connector.
Measure the resistance of the Interior Lamp Driver Circuit between the Central Timer Module harness connector and the Headlamp Switch harness connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
  1. Yes --> Go To 3
  2. No --> Repair the Interior Lamp Driver Circuit for a short to voltage.

    Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1  .

3 Remove and inspect the inoperative bulbs
Are the inspected bulbs OK?
  1. Yes --> Go To 4
  2. No --> Replace the inoperative bulbs.

    Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1  .

4 Measure the voltage of the Fused B+ Circuit to one of the Interior Lamps.
Is the voltage above 10.0 volts?
  1. Yes --> Go To 5
  2. No --> Repair the open Fused B+ Circuit.

    Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1  .

5 Disconnect the Headlamp Switch harness connector.
Measure the resistance of the Interior Lamp Defeat Circuit between the Headlamp Switch harness and the Central Timer Module harness connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
  1. Yes --> Go To 6
  2. No --> Repair the Interior Lamp Defeat Circuit for a short to ground.

    Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1  .

6 Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Headlamp Switch harness connector. Remove the Headlamp Switch.
Turn the Courtesy Lamp Control Switch to on.
Measure the resistance between the Interior Lamp Defeat Circuit and the Courtesy Lamp Switch Sense Circuit of the Headlamp Switch connector - component side.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
  1. Yes --> Replace the Central Timer Module.

    Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1  .

  2. No --> Replace the Headlamp Switch.

    Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1  .
