Diagnostic Procedure

HIGH BEAM INDICATOR OUTPUT SHORTED TO BATTERY - DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

TEST ACTION
1 Turn the ignition on.
With the DRBIII(R), erase all CTM DTCs.
Turn the headlamps on.
Actuate the High Beams.
With the DRBIII(R), read CTM DTCs.
Does the DRBIII(R) display HIGH BEAM INDICATOR OUTPUT SHORTED TO BATTERY?
  1. Yes --> Go To 2
  2. No --> The condition is not present at this time. Refer to any Technical Service Bulletins (TSB) that may apply. Visually insect the related wiring harness. Look for any chafed, pierced, or partially broken wires. Inspect connector terminal contact.

    Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1  .

2 Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the CTM C1 harness connector.
Disconnect the Instrument Cluster C2 harness connector.
Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.
Measure the voltage of the High Beam Indicator Driver circuit.
Does voltage measure above 1.0 volts?
  1. Yes --> Repair the short to B(+) in the High Beam Indicator Driver circuit.

    Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1  .

  2. No --> Replace and program the Central Timer Module (CTM) in accordance with the Service Information.

    Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1  .
