Diagnostic Procedure

HIGH BEAM INDICATOR OUTPUT OPEN - DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

TEST	ACTION
1	Turn the ignition on. With the DRBIII(R), erase CTM DTCs. Cycle the ignition to off and then back on. With the DRBIII(R), read CTM DTCs. Does the DRBIII(R) display HIGH BEAM INDICATOR OUTPUT OPEN? Yes --> Go To 2 No --> The condition is not present at this time. Monitor DRBIII(R) parameters while wiggling the related wire harness. Refer to any Technical Service Bulletins (TSB) that may apply. Visually inspect the related wiring harness and connector terminals. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1 .
2	Turn the ignition off. Disconnect the CTM C1 harness connector. Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary. Connect a fused jumper wire between the High Beam Indicator circuit and a known good ground. Observe the High Beam Indicator. Does the High Beam Indicator illuminate? Yes --> Replace and program the Central Timer Module (CTM) in accordance with the Service Information. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1 . No --> Go To 3
3	Turn the ignition off. Disconnect the CTM C1 harness connector. Disconnect the Instrument Cluster C2 harness connector. Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary. Measure the resistance of the High Beam Indicator Driver circuit. Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms? Yes --> Go To 4 No --> Repair the open in the High Beam Indicator Driver circuit. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1 .
4	Turn the ignition off. Disconnect the CTM C1 harness connector. Disconnect the Instrument Cluster C2 harness connector. Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary. Measure the resistance of the High Beam Indicator Driver circuit to ground. Does the resistance measure below 5.0 ohms? Yes --> Repair the short to ground in the High Beam Indicator Driver circuit. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1 . No --> Go To 5
5	Turn the ignition off. Remove the Instrument Cluster. Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary. Inspect the High Beam Indicator bulb. Is the indicator bulb open? Yes --> Replace the High Beam Indicator bulb. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1 . No --> Replace the Instrument Cluster in accordance with the Service Information. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1 .
