Diagnostic Procedure

LOW WASHER FLUID INDICATOR ALWAYS OFF - DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

TEST ACTION
1 Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Washer Fluid Level Switch connector.
Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.
Connect a jumper wire between the Washer Fluid Level Switch Sense circuit and the Washer Fluid Level Switch Ground circuit.
Turn the ignition on.
NOTE: The Instrument Cluster will delay illuminating the indicator for approximately 30 seconds.

Observe the Low Washer Fluid Indicator.
Does the indicator illuminate?
  1. Yes --> Replace the Washer Fluid Level Switch.

    Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1  .

  2. No --> Go To 2
2 Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Washer Fluid Level Switch harness connector.
Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.
Using a 12-volt test light connected to 12-volts, check the Washer Fluid Level Switch Ground circuit.
Does the test light illuminate brightly?
  1. Yes --> Go To 3
  2. No --> Repair the open in the Washer Fluid Level Switch Ground circuit.

    Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER-1.

3 Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Instrument Panel C2 harness connector.
Disconnect the Washer Fluid Level Switch harness connector.
Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.
Measure the resistance of the Washer Fluid Switch Sense circuit.
Does the resistance measure above 5.0 ohms?
  1. Yes --> Repair the open in the Washer Fluid Switch Sense circuit.

    Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1  .

  2. No --> Replace the Instrument Cluster in accordance with the Service Information.

    Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1  .
