Diagnostic Procedure

TX FAILURE (ACTIVE) - DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

TEST ACTION
1 Turn the ignition on.
With the DRBIII(R), attempt to communicate with the HVAC Module.
Was the DRBIII(R) able to I/D or communicate with the HVAC Module?
  1. Yes --> Go To 2
  2. No --> Refer to the COMMUNICATION  category and perform the appropriate symptom.

    Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1  .

2 Turn the ignition on.
With the DRBIII(R), read HVAC DTCs.
Does the DRBIII(R) display additional HVAC DTCs?
  1. Yes --> Return to the symptom list and choose the symptom(s).

    Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1  .

  2. No --> Go To 3
3 Turn the ignition on.
With the DRBIII(R), attempt to communicate with the PCM.
With the DRBIII(R), attempt to communicate with the CTM.
Was the DRBIII(R) able to I/D or communicate with the PCM and the CTM?
  1. Yes --> Go To 4
  2. No --> Refer to the COMMUNICATION  category and perform the appropriate symptom.

    Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1  .

4 Turn the ignition on.
With the DRBIII(R), erase HVAC DTCs.
Cycle the ignition switch and wait approximately 1 minute.
With the DRBIII(R), read HVAC DTCs.
Did this DTC reset?
  1. Yes --> Replace the A/C - Heater Control Module in accordance with the Service Information.

    Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1  .

  2. No --> Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors to help isolate a possible intermittent wiring condition.

    Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1  .
