Diagnostic Procedure

BLOWER MOTOR INOPERATIVE - DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE
| TEST | ACTION |

| 1 | Turn the ignition off. Remove and inspect Power Distribution Center Fuse #13. Is the fuse open?

| 2 | Turn the ignition off. Replace the Power Distribution Center Fuse #13. Turn the ignition on. Turn the blower on and operate it in all speeds and modes. Does the blower motor operate properly without blowing the fuse?

| 3 | Turn the ignition off. Disconnect the Blower Motor harness connector. Measure the resistance between ground and the Blower Motor Feed circuit. Is the resistance below 10K ohms?
|
| 4 | Turn the ignition off. Disconnect the Ignition Switch harness connector. Measure the resistance between ground and the Fused B(+) circuit. Is the resistance below 10K ohms?

| 5 | Ensure Power Distribution Center Fuse #13 is installed. Disconnect the Blower Motor Resistor Block harness connector. Turn the ignition on.
NOTE:
The test light must illuminate brightly. Compare the brightness to that of a direct connection to the battery. Using a 12-volt test light connected to ground, back probe the Blower Motor Common Driver circuit in the Blower Motor Resistor Block harness connector. Does the test light illuminate brightly?

| 6 | Turn the ignition off. Disconnect the A/C - Heater Control Module C2 harness connector. Connect a jumper wire between ground and the High Blower Motor Driver circuit in the A/C - Heater Control Module C2 harness connector. Turn the ignition on. Does the blower motor run at high speed?

| 7 | Turn the ignition off. Disconnect the A/C - Heater Control Module C2 harness connector. Measure the resistance between ground and the Ground circuit. Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?

| 8 | Turn the ignition off. Disconnect the A/C - Heater Control Module C2 harness connector. Disconnect the Blower Motor Resistor Block harness connector. Measure the resistance of the High Blower Motor Driver circuit between the A/C - Heater Control Module C2 harness connector and the Blower Motor Resistor Block harness connector. Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?

| 9 | Turn the ignition off. Disconnect the Blower Motor harness connector. Disconnect the Blower Motor Resistor Block harness connector. Measure the resistance of the Blower Motor Common Driver circuit between the Blower Motor harness connector and the Resistor Block harness connector. Is the resistance below 5 ohms?

| 10 | Turn the ignition off. Disconnect the Blower Motor harness connector. Turn the ignition on.
NOTE:

| 11 | Turn the ignition off. Disconnect the Ignition Switch harness connector. Turn the ignition on.
