Diagnostic Procedure

CHIME SOUNDS WITH DRIVER'S DOOR OPEN, KEY REMOVED - DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

TEST ACTION
1 Verify proper operation of the Exterior and Interior Lamps.
Did the lamps operate properly?
  1. Yes --> Go To 2
  2. No --> Refer to symptom list for problems related to Exterior or Interior Lighting.

    Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1  .

2 Disconnect the Ignition Switch connector.
Did the chime turn off?
  1. Yes --> Replace the Ignition Switch.

    Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1  .

  2. No --> Go To 3
3 Turn ignition off.
Disconnect the Ignition Switch connector.
Disconnect the Central Timer Module C1 connector.
Measure the resistance of the Key-in Ignition Switch Sense circuit to ground.
Is the resistance below 100.0 ohms?
  1. Yes --> Repair the Key-In Ignition Switch Sense wire for a short to ground.

    Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1  .

  2. No --> Go To 4
4 If there are no possible causes remaining, view repair.
  1. Repair
    1. Replace the Central Timer Module.
    2. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1  .
