Liquid Line: Removal

WARNING: REVIEW THE WARNINGS AND CAUTIONS IN THE FRONT OF THIS SECTION BEFORE PERFORMING THE FOLLOWING OPERATION (Refer to CAUTION  ).
  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  2. Recover the refrigerant from the refrigerant system (Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE  ).
  3. Remove the engine air filter housing from the right inner fenderwell .
  4. If equipped, remove the vehicle speed, control servo from the right inner fenderwell and position the servo out of the way (Refer to SERVO ).
  5. Remove the four push-pin retainers that secure the radiator and condenser air seal to the right side radiator support and remove the air seal from the engine compartment.
  6. Remove the nut that secures the liquid line fitting to the condenser outlet port ( Figure ).
  7. Disconnect the liquid line from the condenser.
  8. Remove the seal from the liquid line fitting and discard.
  9. Install plugs in, or tape over the liquid line fitting and condenser outlet port.
  10. Remove the liquid line from the retaining clip on the inner fenderwell.
  11. Remove the secondary retaining clip from the spring-lock coupler that secures the liquid line to the evaporator inlet tube.
  12. Using the proper A/C line disconnect tool, disconnect the liquid line from the evaporator inlet tube (Refer to REMOVAL  ).
  13. Remove the O-ring seal from the liquid fitting and discard.
  14. Install plugs in, or tape over the opened liquid fitting and the evaporator inlet tube.
  15. Remove the liquid line from the vehicle.
