Test 12A - Vehicle Communications
- Turn key off. Remove and inspect fuse No. 7 and fuse No. 11. If fuse No. 7 is open, perform TEST 15A - ACM REPLACEMENT PROCEDURE . If fuse No. 11 is open, perform TEST 12C - NO RESPONSE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER . If neither fuse is open, reinstall both fuses and disconnect instrument cluster connectors.
- Turn ignition on (engine off) Using voltmeter, measure fused ignition switch output at Red connector. If voltage is not above 10 volts repair open fused ignition switch output circuit. If voltage is above 10 volts, go to next step.
- Using voltmeter, measure fused (B+) at red connector. If voltage is not above 10 volts, repair open fused (B+) circuit.
- Turn ignition off. Using ohmmeter, ground circuit at Red connector. If resistance is not below 10 ohms, repair open ground circuit. If resistance is below 10 ohms, go to next step.
- Turn ignition on (engine off). Connect jumper between CCD BUS (+) circuit and ground. Use DRB to perform CCD BUS TEST. If DRB shows BUS SHORT TO GROUND, go to next step. If DRB does not show BUS SHORT TO GROUND, go to step 9).
- Remove jumper and connect jumper between CCD BUS (-) circuit and ground. Use DRB to perform CCD BUS TEST. If DRB shows BUS SHORT TO GROUND, replace instrument cluster. If DRB does not show BUS SHORT TO GROUND, go to next step.
- Disconnect body control module (BCM)instrument panel 22-way connector. Backprobe a jumper from CCD BUS (-) to ground. Reconnect instrument panel 22-way connector to body control module (BCM). Use DRB to perform CCD BUS TEST. If DRB shows BUS SHORT TO GROUND, repair open CCD BUS (-) circuit. If DRB does not show BUS SHORT TO GROUND, replace body control module (BCM)
- Disconnect body control module (BCM) instrument panel 22-way connector. Backprobe a jumper from CCD BUS (+) to ground. Reconnect 22-way connector to BCM. Use DRB to perform CCD BUS TEST. If DRB shows BUS SHORT TO GROUND, repair open CCD BUS (+) circuit. If DRB does not show BUS SHORT TO GROUND, replace body control module (BCM).
