Diagnostic Procedure

  1. Perform SIR diagnostic system check. Go to SIR DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK . When check is completed, go to next step.
  2. Using scan tool, check for current or history codes. If DTC 18 or 24 is set as either a history or current code, diagnose each code. Go to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) . If DTC 18 or 24 was not recorded by scan tool, go to next step.
  3. Disable SIR system. See DISABLING SYSTEM  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM. Replace SDM. See SENSING & DIAGNOSTIC MODULE (SDM)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Connect all SIR components. Go to SIR DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK .
