Disabling System

WARNING: SDM maintains sufficient voltage to cause air bag deployment for up to 10 minutes after ignition switch is turned off and AIR BAG fuse is removed.

Turn steering wheel to place vehicle wheels in straight-ahead position. Turn ignition switch to OFF position and remove key. Remove air bag fuse F15 from fuse block, located in driver-side kick panel. See Figure. Wait at least 10 minutes before beginning service on air bag system.
