Diagnostic Test

  1. OTHER DTCS PRESENT 
    1. Ignition on, engine not running.
    2. With the scan tool, read DTCs.
    3. Check for any faults present for Coolant Temperature Sensor, Temperature/Barometric Pressure Sensor (TBAP) and, or Oil Pressure Switch?

      Are any faults present for the above sensors?

      Yes 

      No 

      • Go To  2.
  2. COLD CLIMATE DERATE VERIFICATION 
    TEMPERATURE EVIC STRATEGY
    AMBIENT TEMPERATURE IS BETWEEN 10°F to -10°F ENGINE POWER IS REDUCED FOR 30 SECONDS
    AMBIENT TEMPERATURE IS BETWEEN -10°F to -25°F ENGINE POWER IS REDUCED FOR ONE MINUTE
    AMBIENT TEMPERATURE IS BELOW -25°F ENGINE POWER IS REDUCED FOR TWO MINUTES
    NOTE:

    This is a normal turbo protection condition. The de-rate was activated to protect the turbocharger from failing due to oil delay to the bearings. Please inform the customer on this condition.
