Diagnostic Test

- CHECK FOR ACTIVE DTC NOTE:
If there are any 5 Volt Reference DTCs, perform the Diagnostics on those DTCs before continuing with this one.
- Turn the ignition on.
- Using the scan tool, erase PCM DTCs.
- Perform several ignition cycles, turning the ignition off for at least 10 seconds between each ignition cycle.
- Using the scan tool, actuate the Intake Swirl Valve.
- Monitor the scan tool for PCM DTCs.
Did this DTC return?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Refer to INTERMITTENT DTC .
- CHECK THE (N119) ISV POSITION SENSOR 2 SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the ISV Position Sensor 2 harness connector.
- Turn the ignition on.
- Measure the voltage on the (N119) ISV Position Sensor 2 Signal circuit at the ISV Position Sensor 2 harness connector.
Is the voltage above 5.2 Volts?
Yes
- Repair the (N119) Intake Swirl Valve Position Sensor 2 Signal circuit for a short to voltage.
- Perform the PCM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to PCM VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 3
- INTAKE SWIRL VALVE POSITION SENSOR 2
- Turn the ignition off.
- Replace the Intake Swirl Valve Position Sensor 2 in accordance with the service information.
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, erase PCM DTCs.
- Perform several ignition key cycles leaving the ignition on for at least 10 seconds per cycle.
- Using the scan tool, actuate the Intake Swirl Valve.
- With the scan tool, read PCM DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC?
Yes
- Replace the Powertrain Control Module in accordance with the service information. Refer to REMOVAL .
- Perform the PCM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to PCM VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Test complete.
- Perform the PCM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to PCM VERIFICATION TEST .
