Diagnostic Test

- DTC IS ACTIVE
- Ignition on, engine not running.
- With the scan tool, erase DTCs in the PCM.
- Start the engine and test drive the vehicle if necessary.
- Monitor the scan tool for at least two minutes.
- With the scan tool, select View DTCs.
Is the status Active for this DTC?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Refer to INTERMITTENT DTC .
- CHECK THE (K365) FUEL QUANTITY SOLENOID DRIVER CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE

- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the Fuel Quantity Solenoid harness connector.
- Disconnect the PCM C2 harness connector.
- Remove the ASD Relay from the TIPM.
- Connect a jumper wire between cavity 30 and cavity 87 of the ASD Relay connector.
- Turn the ignition on.
- Measure the voltage of the (K365) Fuel Quantity Solenoid Driver circuit in the Boost Pressure Actuator harness connector.
Is there any voltage present?
Yes
- Go To 3
No
- Repair the (K365) Fuel Quantity Solenoid Driver circuit for a short to voltage.
- Perform the PCM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to PCM VERIFICATION TEST .
- CHECK THE (K366) FUEL QUANTITY SOLENOID RETURN CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE

- Measure the voltage of the (K366) Fuel Quantity Solenoid Return circuit in the Boost Pressure Actuator harness connector.
Is there any voltage present?
Yes
- Go To 4
No
- Repair the (K365) Fuel Quantity Solenoid Return circuit for a short to voltage.
- Perform the PCM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to PCM VERIFICATION TEST .
- Measure the voltage of the (K366) Fuel Quantity Solenoid Return circuit in the Boost Pressure Actuator harness connector.
- FUEL QUANTITY SOLENOID
- Reconnect the PCM C2 harness connector.
- Reconnect the Fuel Control Actuator harness connector.
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, select Erase DTCs.
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the Fuel Quantity Solenoid harness connector.
- With the scan tool, select View DTCs.NOTE:
The P0001-Fuel Quantity Regulator Control Circuit Open DTC should be active or pending with the harness connector unplugged.
Did the DTC set as described above?
Yes
- Replace the Fuel Quantity Solenoid in accordance with the service information.
- Perform the PCM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to PCM VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 5
- POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE
- Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors between the Fuel Quantity Solenoid and the Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
- Look for any chafed, pierced, pinched, or partially broken wires.
- Look for broken, bent, pushed out or corroded terminals.
- Perform any Technical Service Bulletins that may apply.
Were any problems found?
Yes
- Repair as necessary.
- Perform the PCM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to PCM VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Replace the Powertrain Control Module in accordance with the service information. Refer to REMOVAL .
- Perform the PCM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to PCM VERIFICATION TEST .
