Diagnostic Test

  1. ACTIVE DTC 
    1. Turn the ignition on.
    2. With the scan tool check active DTCs.

      Is the DTC active?

      Yes 

      • Go To  2

      No 

      • Perform the INTERMITTENT CONDITION - 6.7L diagnostic procedure. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  2. CHECK THE AMMONIA SENSOR TRIM RESISTOR 
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the Ammonia Sensor harness connector from the module.
    3. Measure the resistance of the Ammonia Sensor trim resistor at the Ammonia Sensor harness connector.
      NOTE:

      Measure between terminal 2 (Yellow wire) and terminal 3 (Tan wire).

      Is the resistance between 500.0 Ohms and 2k Ohms?

      Yes 

      • Replace the Ammonia Sensor Module in accordance with the service information.
      • Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST - 6.7L. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .

      No 

      • Replace the Ammonia Sensor in accordance with the service information.
      • Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST - 6.7L. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
