Diagnostic Test

- ACTIVE DTC NOTE:
If there are 5-Volt Reference related DTCs present, perform the diagnostics on those DTCs before proceeding with this diagnostic test.
NOTE:If DTCs P245A, P245C, P245D, P2494 or P2495 are present, perform the diagnostics on those DTCs before proceeding with this diagnostic test.
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, record all Freeze frame data.
- With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
- Turn the ignition off for 75 seconds.
- Start the engine.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Is DTC P2493 active?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the INTERMITTENT CONDITION - 6.7L diagnostic procedure. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- CHECK THE (K834) 5 VOLT SUPPLY CIRCUIT
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the EBV harness connector.
- Turn the ignition on.
- Measure the voltage between the (K834) 5 Volt Supply circuit and the (K934) Sensor Return circuit at the EBV harness connector.
Is the voltage between 4.75 Volts and 5.25 Volts?
Yes
- Go To 3
No
- Repair the (K834) 5 Volt Supply circuit and/or the (K934) Sensor Return circuit for an open/high resistance.
- EGR COOLER BYPASS VALVE
- Place a jumper wire between the (K934) Sensor Return circuit and the (K671) EGR Bypass Position Signal circuit at the EBV harness connector.
Did DTC P2494 become active?
Yes
- Replace the EGR Cooler Bypass Valve in accordance with the service information.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST - 6.7L. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
No
- Replace and program the Powertrain Control Module in accordance with the service information. Refer to appropriate service information .
- Place a jumper wire between the (K934) Sensor Return circuit and the (K671) EGR Bypass Position Signal circuit at the EBV harness connector.
