Diagnostic Test

  1. ACTIVE DTC 
    1. Start the engine.
    2. With the scan tool, select view DTCs.

      Is the status active or pending for this DTC?

      Yes 

      • Go To  2

      No 

  2. CHECK THE (F342) FUSED ASD RELAY OUTPUT CIRCUIT VOLTAGE 
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the Gasoline Fuel Injector Relay harness connector.
    3. Turn the ignition on.
    4. Measure the voltage on the (F342) Fused ASD Relay Output circuit at the Gasoline Fuel Injector Relay harness connector.

      Is the approximately equal to battery voltage?

      Yes 

      • Go To  3

      No 

      • Repair the (F342) Fused ASD Relay Output circuit for an open or high resistance. If the fuse is found to be blown, check the circuit for a short to ground.
      • Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  3. CHECK THE (K605) GASOLINE INJECTOR RELAY CONTROL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND 
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the PCM C2 harness connector.
    3. Measure the resistance between ground and the (K605) Gasoline Injector Relay Control circuit at the Gasoline Fuel Injector Relay harness connector.

      Is the resistance above 10k Ohms?

      Yes 

      • Go To  4

      No 

      • Repair the (K605) Gasoline Injector Relay Control circuit for a short to ground.
      • Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  4. GASOLINE FUEL INJECTOR RELAY 
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Replace the Gasoline Fuel Injector Relay in accordance with the service information.
    3. Turn the ignition on.
    4. With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
    5. Start the engine.
    6. With the scan tool, select view DTCs.

      Did the DTC return?

      Yes 

      • Replace the Powertrain Control Module in accordance with the service information.
      • Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .

      No 

      • Repair complete.
      • Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
