Section 1610 (Audio/Video/Entertainment/Connectivity - ( Service Information ) - 2500 Hd): Radio: Installation
- Position the Radio Receiver Module (RRM) near the instrument panel.
- Connect the antennas (2) and electrical connector (1).
- If equipped, connect the USB connectors (3).
- Seat the RRM into the cavity in the instrument panel.
- Install the four fasteners (1) securing the radio (2) to the instrument panel. Tighten the fasteners securely.
- Install the instrument panel center bezel. Refer to BEZEL, INSTRUMENT PANEL, CENTER, INSTALLATION .
- Connect the negative battery cable.
- Turn the ignition to the ON position for two minutes. During this cycle you may notice the RRM screen wallpaper (background of display image) to display non-vehicle specific images, a radio locked screen, or you may get a possible pending EQ mismatch fault. These will be corrected on the 2nd ignition cycle.
- For the RA1 and UA1 radios only, there is a 4 digit security code that will have to be obtained from the Star Center.NOTE:
The 4 digit code will need to be obtained in the case of a battery disconnect or radio replacement.
- Allow the RRM to go fully asleep (CAN bus off), then perform a 2nd ignition cycle.NOTE:
Uconnect Access Applications and WiFi hotspot will be automatically updated in the replacement RRM through the RRM's embedded cellular phone based on the customers present subscription status. This update process may take up to an hour, depending upon the number of apps and adequate cellular services accessibility. The dealer is not expected to perform this process or to oversee it, but may need to explain to the vehicle owner or operator that some features and applications may not be fully restored and overall system response may be slowed until the process has completed.
NOTE:For RA3 RRM only: If the RRM has had the Navigation feature activated, any factory replacement RRM for the same vehicle will be provided with the Navigation system already activated. Refer to the Navigation/Telecommunication section
