Gas - Left Side

  1. Remove the battery from the battery tray. Refer to BATTERY, REMOVAL .
  2. If equipped and mounted to the battery tray, remove the Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU). Refer to HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (HCU), REMOVAL .

  3. Open the Power Distribution cover (PDC) and remove the B+ cable bolt (1).

  4. Unclip all wiring harness wire hold downs (1) on the battery tray. There are 6 hold downs.

  5. Remove the clips (1) at the PDC base.

  6. Disconnect the wire harness retainers (1) from the battery tray assembly including those in the PDC portion of the tray.

  7. Partially remove the radiator cover by removing two clips (1).

  8. Remove the three bolts (2) and remove the support bracket (1) behind the headlight.

  9. Remove four bolts (1) securing the battery tray to the fender wall.
  10. Remove the left front wheelhouse splash shield. Refer to SHIELD, SPLASH, FRONT WHEELHOUSE .

  11. Remove the two lower battery tray bolts (1).

  12. When removing the battery tray for replacement, transfer the battery tray spacer (1) (if equipped) to the new battery tray.
