Heater, Air Intake: Removal

NOTE:

If servicing the heater element (1) is required, the entire air intake heater assembly (2) must be replaced.

  1. Disconnect and isolate both of the negative battery cables.
  2. Remove the intake manifold. Refer to REMOVAL .
  3. Remove the fuel rail. Refer to RAIL, FUEL, REMOVAL  .

  4. Remove the heater cable nut (2) and the heater cable from stud.
  5. Disconnect the fuel injector harness connectors (1, 6).
  6. Disconnect the crankcase vent line (3) at top of valve cover.
  7. Disconnect the crankcase pressure sensor harness connector (5).

  8. Remove the bolts (4) and the air intake heater assembly (2).
  9. Remove and discard the gasket (5).
