Tank, Fuel: Removal

  1. Disconnect and isolate both of the negative battery cables.
  2. Raise and support vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  3. Drain the fuel tank. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE  .
  4. Loosen the hose clamps (3).
  5. Remove the hoses (4) and (6) from tank.

  6. Disconnect the fuel vapor hose (2) to tank fitting (1).

  7. Disconnect the fuel pump module wire harness connector (1).

  8. Disconnect the fuel return and supply line quick-connect fittings (4) and (5). Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE  .
  9. Position a transmission jack under fuel tank.

  10. Remove the nuts (5) and both fuel tank straps (4).
  11. Lower the transmission jack and remove fuel tank.
  12. If necessary, remove the fuel pump module. Refer to MODULE, FUEL PUMP, REMOVAL .
