Diagnostic Test

- ACTIVE DTC NOTE:
If DTC P0107, P0108, P064F, P2227, P2228, P2229 or any EGR related DTCs are present, perform those test procedures before proceeding.
NOTE:An Exhaust Restriction can set this DTC.
NOTE:Unapproved software calibrations or Unauthorized Performance Enhancements can set this DTC.
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, record all Freeze frame data.
- With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
- Turn the ignition off for 75 seconds.
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the INTERMITTENT CONDITION - 6.7L diagnostic procedure. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- VERIFY THE ACCURACY OF THE INLET AIR PRESSURE SENSOR WITH THE SCAN TOOL
- Connect the scan tool.
- Monitor the Intake Manifold Pressure.
Is the value less than 203mm Hg (8 in-Hg)?
Yes
- Go To 3
No
- Replace the Inlet Air Pressure sensor in accordance with the :Service Information.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST - 6.7L. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- VERIFY THE ACCURACY OF THE INLET AIR PRESSURE SENSOR WITH A MECHANICAL GAUGE
- Turn the ignition off.
- Connect a mechanical intake manifold pressure gauge to the engine.
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
- Start the engine.
- Compare the intake manifold pressure reading on the scan tool to the reading on the mechanical intake manifold pressure gauge.NOTE:
The engine may need to be loaded before the pressure readings can be compared.
Is the pressure difference greater than 127 mm Hg [5 in-Hg] between the scan tool and the mechanical gauge reading?
Yes
- Replace the Inlet Air Pressure sensor in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST - 6.7L. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
No
- Go To 4
- POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE
- Unapproved software calibrations or Unauthorized Performance Enhancements can set this DTC.
Is there evidence of unapproved software calibrations or Unauthorized Performance Enhancements?
Yes
- Repair Complete.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST - 6.7L. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
No
- Replace the Powertrain Control Module in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST - 6.7L. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Unapproved software calibrations or Unauthorized Performance Enhancements can set this DTC.
