Diagnostic Test

- CHECK FOR ACTIVE DTC NOTE:
If DTCs P24D0, P24AE, U04A4, or U02A3 are present, perform the diagnostics for those DTCs before continuing with this one.
- Ignition on, engine not running.
- Using the scan tool, read DTCs.
Is this DTC active?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Refer to INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
- CHECK SYSTEM VOLTAGE
- Check the Batteries and charging system for proper system voltage and operation.
Is the system voltage normal?
Yes
- Go To 3
No
- Diagnose and repair the Batteries and charging system before continuing.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .
- Check the Batteries and charging system for proper system voltage and operation.
- CHECK THE PM SENSOR POWER AND GROUND CIRCUITS
- Turn the ignition on, engine not running.
- Disconnect the PM Sensor harness connector.
- Measure the voltage across the SCR Relay 2 (F205) Output circuit and the (Z915) Ground circuit at the PM Sensor harness connector.
Does the voltage read within 1.0 volt of Battery voltage?
Yes
- Replace the Particulate Matter (PM) Sensor in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to SENSOR, PARTICULATE MATTER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 4
- CHECK THE SCR RELAY 2 (F205) OUTPUT CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the PCM C2 harness connector.
- Measure for continuity between ground and the SCR Relay 2 (F205) Output circuit at the PM Sensor harness connector.
Is there continuity between ground and the SCR Relay 2 (F205) Output circuit?
Yes
- Repair the SCR Relay 2 (F205) Output circuit for a short to ground.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Repair the SCR Relay 2 (F205) Output circuit for an open/high resistance.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .
