Cargo/Bed Lamps

When the bed lighting hard switch in the IPC is commanded ON or OFF or the bed light switch in the rear bed is commanded ON or OFF, the BCM activates a CAN bus output to active and drives the bed lights ON or OFF. When the bed lighting is turned ON, the BCM sends a CAN message to the IPC to illuminate the CARGO LAMP ON message to the driver.
Cargo/Bed lighting illumination is possible when the following conditions are met:
- The transmission needs to be engaged in P ark, N eutral or R everse.
- Vehicle speeds are at 0
If the vehicle is equipped with the cargo camera and the customer selects to turn on the camera through the radio touch screen interface, the BCM will activate the cargo/bed lighting. Enabling the cargo camera does not override the deactivation of the bed/cargo lights when the vehicle is moving forward.
The bed lighting is also included in the illuminated approach vehicle feature and will activate when illuminated approach normally activates.
