BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM)

The BCM is an electronic control unit that manages the main body functions of the vehicle thus performing gateway functions between high and low speed Controller Area Networks (CAN) and between Local Interface Network (LIN) and CAN networks. Moreover, the BCM is the vehicle configuration master, controls the load shed strategy and is the lighting control master for this vehicle.
Loadshed
The BCM contains and controls the exterior lamps loadshed strategy. When the ignition is OFF and the lamps are ON, the BCM will loadshed the lamps after 8 minutes.

- Fog lamp switch command
- Left and right turn requests for fog lamp operation
- Hazard switch command
- Park brake
- Turn signal requests from the SCCM
- Mirror lamps equipped configuration
- Snow plow present configuration
- Rear wig wag request from the Vehicle System Interface Module (VSIM)
- Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM) hazard flash requests
- Radio Frequency Hub (RFH) requests
- Panic mode active
- Police stealth mode active
- Theft alarm status

- AFLS enabled or disabled message to the radio
- AFLS present configuration message
- Fog lamp operation
- Fog lamp telltale to the IPC
- Turn signal illumination requests to the IPC
- Turn indications output on the bus network
- Mirror lamp command to the Door Control Modules (DCM)
- Hazard status to the VSIM
- Active turn signal request messages to the bus networks
