2.4L Turbo

- Disconnect the negative battery cable. See Fig 1.
- Remove the air cleaner box, refer to appropriate article, (Refer to ENGINE/AIR INTAKE SYSTEM/AIR CLEANER HOUSING - REMOVAL) or (Refer to ENGINE/AIR INTAKE SYSTEM/AIR CLEANER HOUSING - REMOVAL) .
- Pushing the inner cooler hose up and out of the way and remove the upper starter bolt and ground wire. See Fig 2.
- Raise vehicle and support.
- Remove the inner cooler lower hose from the inner cooler. See Fig 3.
1 - Lower Inner Cooler Tube 2 - Power Steering Line Brackets 3 - Studs - Remove the nuts that hold the lower inner cooler tube. See Fig 4.
1 - Lower Inner Cooler Tube 2 - Power Steering Lines 3 - Mounting Studs - Remove the studs that hold the power steering lines. See Fig 4.
- Loosen and relocate the power steering lines. See Fig 5.

1 - TRANSAXLE 2 - STRUCTURAL COLLAR 3 - OIL PAN 4 - BENDING STRUT - Remove the Structural Collar, (Refer to ENGINE/ENGINE BLOCK/STRUCTURAL COVER - REMOVAL) .
- Unlock and disconnect the solenoid electrical connector.
- Disconnect and remove the positive battery cable.
- Remove the lower starter bolt.
- Remove starter. See Fig 7.
