NONDEPLOYED Passenger Airbag

- Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.WARNING: Wait two minutes for the airbag system reserve capacitor to discharge before beginning any airbag system or component service. Failure to do so may result in accidental airbag deployment, personal injury or death.
- Remove the right side silencer pad (Refer to BODY/INSTRUMENT PANEL/INSTRUMENT PANEL SILENCER - REMOVAL) .
- Remove the glove box assembly (Refer to BODY/INSTRUMENT PANEL/GLOVE BOX - REMOVAL) .
- Remove the two inboard mounting screws (2) to the passenger airbag just below the distribution duct (1) and to the left of the distribution housing.
- Remove the two outboard mounting screws (1) to the passenger airbag just below the distribution duct.
- Remove the two passenger airbag mounting bolts (2) to the crossbar beam.
- Disconnect the passenger airbag electrical connector (3).
- Maneuver the passenger airbag down in a way to clear any obstacles that may impede the removal of the airbag.
