Stationary Glass: BACKLITE: Removal

NOTE:
Windshield removal shown, backlite similar.
- Before proceeding with the following repair procedure, review all warnings and cautions (Refer to BODY/STATIONARY GLASS - WARNING) .
- Remove quarter trim panels (Refer to BODY/INTERIOR/QUARTER TRIM PANEL - REMOVAL) .
- Remove the trim panel from the rear shelf (Refer to BODY/INTERIOR/REAR SHELF TRIM PANEL - REMOVAL) .
- Disconnect the wire connectors from rear window defogger terminals and, rear window mounted radio antenna, if equipped.CAUTION: Be careful not to damage painted surfaces when cutting urethane around the backlight.
- Using an assistant and a wire-type windshield cut-out tool (1, 3 and 4), cut and separate the urethane adhesive (2) securing the backlite to the backlite fence.
- Carefully remove the backlite from the vehicle.
