Section 122 (Cruise Control Systems): Cable: Removal: 1.6/2.0L

- Remove the air cleaner and makeup air hose. Refer to appropriate article. Refer to (Refer to ENGINE/AIR INTAKE SYSTEM/AIR CLEANER ELEMENT - REMOVAL) or (Refer to ENGINE/AIR INTAKE SYSTEM/AIR CLEANER ELEMENT - REMOVAL) .
- Remove the negative battery cable.
- Remove the engine cover and throttle control shield, if equipped.
- Remove two nuts attaching speed control cable and mounting bracket to servo. See Fig 1.
- Remove servo from the mounting bracket.
- Disconnect electrical connector and vacuum hose.
1 - HAIRPIN CLIP - Remove retaining clip holding cable to servo.
- Remove throttle cable clasp from the throttle body cam. See Fig 3.
- Remove speed control cable from throttle cam by sliding clasp out hole used for throttle cable.
- Compress the retaining tabs on the cables and slide cables out of bracket. See Fig 4.
