Section 122 (Cruise Control Systems): Cable: Removal: 1.6/2.0L

Remove the air cleaner and makeup air hose. Refer to appropriate article. Refer to (Refer to ENGINE/AIR INTAKE SYSTEM/AIR CLEANER ELEMENT - REMOVAL) or (Refer to ENGINE/AIR INTAKE SYSTEM/AIR CLEANER ELEMENT - REMOVAL) .
Remove the negative battery cable.
Remove the engine cover and throttle control shield, if equipped.
Remove two nuts attaching speed control cable and mounting bracket to servo. See Fig 1.
Remove servo from the mounting bracket.
Disconnect electrical connector and vacuum hose.

1 - HAIRPIN CLIP
Remove retaining clip holding cable to servo.

Remove throttle cable clasp from the throttle body cam. See Fig 3.
Remove speed control cable from throttle cam by sliding clasp out hole used for throttle cable.

Compress the retaining tabs on the cables and slide cables out of bracket. See Fig 4.
