- Disconnect negative battery cable.
- Raise vehicle on hoist. Remove right front wheel.
- Remove the right splash shield (3).
1 - BOLT - Remove accessory drive belts (Refer to COOLING/ACCESSORY DRIVE/DRIVE BELTS - REMOVAL) .
- Remove crankshaft damper
(Refer to ENGINE/ENGINE BLOCK/VIBRATION DAMPER - REMOVAL)

1 - NUT 2 - PENCIL STRUT 3 - NUT 4 - FLAT WASHER 5 - LOWER TORQUE STRUT - Remove the lower torque strut (5)
(Refer to ENGINE/ENGINE MOUNTING/TORQUE STRUT - REMOVAL)

1 - GASKET 2 - CATALYTIC CONVERTER 3 - NUT - Disconnect catalytic converter (2) from manifold.
- Disconnect A/C pressure switch at rear of compressor housing.
- Lower vehicle and support engine with a jack.
- Discharge A/C system and disconnect A/C lines at coupling block (1)
(Refer to the appropriate procedures under PLUMBING - STANDARD PROCEDURE
).
1 - ENGINE MOUNT THROUGH BOLT 2 - RIGHT FENDER 3 - UPPER TORQUE STRUT BRACKET 4 - UPPER TORQUE STRUT 5 - LOWER TORQUE STRUT BRACKET 6 - LOWER TORQUE STRUT 7 - RIGHT ENGINE MOUNT - Remove upper torque strut (4) (Refer to ENGINE/ENGINE MOUNTING/TORQUE STRUT - REMOVAL) .
- Remove screw attaching ground strap to strut bracket.
- Remove upper torque strut bracket (3) from strut tower.
- Remove upper radiator closure panel (Refer to BODY/EXTERIOR/RADIATOR CLOSURE PANEL- REMOVAL)

1 - ENGINE MOUNT THROUGH BOLT 2 - RIGHT FENDER 3 - UPPER TORQUE STRUT BRACKET 4 - UPPER TORQUE STRUT 5 - LOWER TORQUE STRUT BRACKET 6 - LOWER TORQUE STRUT 7 - RIGHT ENGINE MOUNT - Remove power steering pump and bracket. Set pump aside. Do not disconnect lines from pump.
- With engine properly supported, remove right engine mount through bolt (1).
1 - ENGINE SUPPORT BRACKET 2 - BOLTS - 61 N.m (45 ft. lbs.) - Raise engine with jack until engine support bracket bolts (2) are accessible. See Fig 8.
- Remove engine support bracket (1). See Fig 8.
1 - UPPER COVER FASTENERS 2 - LOWER COVER FASTENERS - Remove timing belt cover fasteners (1,2) and remove cover. See Figure.
