Removal & Installation

  1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM . Remove appropriate door opening weatherstrips. Using appropriate tool, pry seat belt shoulder height adjuster knob. Remove seat belt turning loop cover, anchor bolt and turning loop.
  2. Remove seat belt lower anchor bolt. Disengage upper B-pillar trim retaining clips and remove trim. Remove seat belt access panel from lower B-pillar trim panel. Remove appropriate door scuff plates. Disengage lower B-pillar trim retaining clips. Guide seat belt out through access hole and remove lower B-pillar trim. Disconnect side impact sensor electrical connector. Remove side impact sensor retaining screws and impact sensor.
  3. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten side impact sensor retaining screws and seat belt anchor bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . DO NOT connect negative battery cable at this time. Perform air bag system check. See AIR BAG SYSTEM CHECK  under SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK.
