No Pointer Movement (Internal Cluster Failure)

  1. Perform instrument cluster self-test and check for DTCs. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER SELF-TEST  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Go to next step.
  2. If tachometer moves to all calibration points during calibration test, failure is not in the instrument cluster. Go to NO POINTER MOVEMENT (NO RPM PCI BUS MESSAGE OR ZERO RPM PCI BUS MESSAGE FROM ENGINE CONTROLLER) . If pointer does not move to all calibration points, replace instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
