Entering On-Board Diagnostics

WARNING: Accidental air bag deployment is possible. Unexpected air bag deployment may result in personal injury. To avoid possible injury after repairs, turn ignition on with negative battery cable disconnected. Exit vehicle. Ensure vehicle is clear of personnel and connect negative battery cable.

Before entering on-board diagnostics, go to PRETEST INSPECTION & DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE  . Ensure battery is fully charged. Connect DRB to data link connector. Data link connector is located under lower left side of instrument panel. Follow DRB manufacturer instructions and check for fault messages. If any fault messages exist, go to TEST 1A: IDENTIFYING SYSTEM PROBLEMS  under DIAGNOSTIC TESTS.
