Diagnostic Procedure

  1. Using scan tool, check crankshaft position sensor data values. See SCAN TOOL DATA  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Note scan tool data values, then go to next step.
  2. Check electrical connections and wiring between CKP sensor and PCM. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Repair as necessary. If connections and wiring check okay, test CKP sensor. See appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. Replace as necessary. See appropriate REMOVAL, OVERHAUL & INSTALLATION article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. If CKP sensor tests okay, replace PCM. See appropriate REMOVAL, OVERHAUL & INSTALLATION article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE.
