Throttle Position Sensor Circuit
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
NOTE:
For circuit reference, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
and WIRING DIAGRAMS
.
NOTE:
Likely cause for failure may be faulty Throttle Position (TP) sensor circuit or PCM.
- Test TP sensor. See THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR under COMPONENT TESTS. Replace if necessary. See appropriate REMOVAL, OVERHAUL & INSTALLATION article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. If TP sensor tests okay, go to next step.
- Check condition of TP sensor and PCM harness connectors. Repair as necessary. If connectors are okay, go to next step.
- Check wire harness between TP sensor and PCM. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Repair as necessary. If wire harness is okay, go to next step.
- Recheck for symptoms. If symptoms are still present, replace PCM. See appropriate REMOVAL, OVERHAUL & INSTALLATION article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE.
